From shell scheme to standout — we elevated Almet’s presence with a creative modular exhibition stand that fused bold woodworking, immersive lighting, and seamless brand storytelling.
Built for re-usability, designed to impress.
Following the success of their 6m x 3m seamless shell scheme stand in 2023, Almet Trading approached us for a step up in 2024. This time, they had secured a prominent island space and wanted a bolder, more open layout that invited conversation and conveyed confidence.
Their only fixed requirement? Two distinct meeting zones — one relaxed lounge area, and another with bar-style seating. Beyond that, they gave us full creative scope to propose something elevated, eye-catching, and futureproof — trusting in our track record and design-led process.
As always, we kicked off the process with our Free Exhibition Stand Design service — giving them multiple design directions to consider, along with guidance on how modular architecture could scale with them long term.
With full creative scope, we explored a range of design directions — from clean, streamlined modular builds to more elevated concepts that integrated custom woodwork, lighting, and immersive detailing.
The winning direction? A bespoke hybrid solution that combined reusable aluminium structure with a timber roof canopy, LED-illuminated modular platform flooring, and soft-brand storytelling. It struck the perfect balance between visual impact and long-term practicality — bold enough to stand out at a busy industry show, yet modular enough to evolve for future events.
Throughout the planning phase, we provided transparent cost guidance alongside the concepts, aligning with what exhibitors typically want to understand when evaluating how much an exhibition stand costs. We shared multiple proposals with indicative budgets spanning £12K–£20K. After collaborative review, Almet opted for a strategic blend of purchase and hire — owning the core components (framework, lightboxes, bar counter) and hiring supplementary items like the 65″ screen, raised flooring and furniture. This brought the final build in at just under £16K + VAT, including full installation and dismantle.
30mm raised modular floor concealing all power and data cabling, finished with carpet floorcovering and a 6000K LED-illuminated perimeter edge for a clean, continuous halo of light.
Bespoke modular bar counter, wrapped in seamless Foamex graphics and finished with a recessed LED strip beneath the countertop for elegant, front-facing illumination. Designed as a welcoming touchpoint for hospitality, demos and visitor engagement.
Timber canopy structure above the soft lounge zone, accented with pendant lighting to introduce warmth, depth and a more hospitality-style feel within the island stand.
Two full-height, frameless LED lightboxes carrying brand-led visuals, delivering high brightness, long-range visibility across the hall and reusability for future exhibitions.
Distinct meeting areas within an open-plan layout: a high bar-style space for quick conversations, and a relaxed lounge zone for longer discussions and relationship building.
By blending reusable modular structure with carefully crafted details, the stand achieves a custom-build look without the material footprint. This approach gives Almet a flexible, reconfigurable, and more sustainable exhibition system — one that can adapt and scale effortlessly from show to show.
The final stand for Almet Trading made a bold impression from every angle — a confident, contemporary presence at the heart of UK Metals Expo 2024.
Set on a 30mm raised platform with LED-lit edging, the structure immediately defined its footprint with a clean, ambient glow. This subtle elevation gave the stand a premium, gallery-like quality, helping it stand out in a busy exhibition hall.
At the centre, a modular welcome counter clad in branded Foamex panels offered a crisp focal point — finished with a recessed LED glow beneath the countertop for a soft, refined highlight.
Above the lounge area, the timber roof canopy added architectural character, softened by pendant lighting to create a relaxed and inviting meeting space. This contrasted beautifully with the adjacent bar-height seating zone, giving the stand dual functionality and flow.
Framing the stand at both ends, towering backlit visuals commanded attention — doubling as signage and storytelling canvas.
A large 65″ Samsung 4K screen played branded AV content, showcasing Almet’s global steel supply capabilities — from raw materials to finished products — along with their logistics expertise and international presence across the UK, Georgia, Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
