This project is a strong example of how a shell scheme exhibition lightbox stand can transform a standard shell scheme into a high-impact, backlit brand environment.
CleanCloud approached us ahead of their appearance at CleanEx 2022 at Ascot Racecourse, initially enquiring about our Portable Exhibition Lightboxes. They wanted to create a high-impact presence with a 6-metre-wide LED Lightbox as the centrepiece — a bold focal point to draw attention on the show floor.
Equally important was their need for a flexible, future-proof setup that could be re-used and reconfigured for multiple events, venues, and stand types.
Following a Zoom consultation, it became clear that CleanCloud had booked a 7m x 3m U-shape Shell Scheme Exhibition Stand (backwall and two sidewalls), rather than a space-only stand as initially thought.
To make the most of the available space, we proposed a fully integrated setup using our Seamless Shell Scheme Graphics solution. The design featured a 7-metre-wide modular exhibition lightbox as the illuminated backwall, paired with two 3-metre-wide non-illuminated seamless graphic panels on the sidewalls. This created a clean, high-impact visual across all three walls — with a consistent finish that felt more like a custom build than a standard shell scheme.
Thanks to its modular design, the LED Lightbox could also be easily reconfigured for different stand sizes — giving CleanCloud flexibility for future events. In fact, they’ve since reused the same lightbox hardware as a smaller standalone display.
To ensure a professional, seamless fit within the shell scheme structure, the lightbox was manufactured at 2360mm high — the ideal height to sit just beneath the 2400mm internal ceiling grid (a critical detail that’s often overlooked with off-the-shelf lightboxes, which tend to be too short or too tall for shell scheme setups).
With budget in mind, CleanCloud also opted to rent the two seamless sidewalls for this event only — a practical hybrid solution that reduced cost without compromising visual impact.
As a self-build exhibition stand system, our modular lightboxes require no tools for setup. CleanCloud took advantage of our one-on-one training session to confidently assemble the stand in-house — a decision that has already saved them thousands in install and dismantle costs.
